Red Koi fish (or Carps) are good symbol: 12 carps represent 12 months in a year. Twelve carps in the embroidery make a circle and are symbolic for endless fortune, family unity and teamwork.The Chinese word for “fish” (yu) is also a homophone for “surplus, fortune”.
